Introduction

Taggable is an easy-to use, powerful folksonomy engine designed exclusively for ExpressionEngine 2.0. It works with any channel entry, so you can add tags to your blog, news archive, pages, photo gallery - anything that’s powered by a channel! It features a rich set of template tags that let you list, filter, and display tags and their entries with no code necessary.

About this documentation

This documentation is part reference guide, part tutorial. I'll guide you through the generic process of using Taggable, as well as provide a good thorough reference guide of the tags and their parameters. You're welcome to read the docs through 'cover-to-cover' as it were, as well as use them purely as a reference manual.

License

This license is a legal agreement between you and Jamie Rumbelow for the use of Taggable (the "Software"). By downloading Taggable you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this license. Jamie Rumbelow reserves the right to alter this agreement at any time, for any reason, without notice.

Permitted Use

One license grants the right to perform one installation of the Software. Each additional installation of the Software requires an additional purchased license.

Restrictions
============

Unless you have been granted prior, written consent from Jamie Rumbelow, you may not:

Reproduce, distribute, or transfer the Software, or portions thereof, to any third party.
Sell, rent, lease, assign, or sublet the Software or portions thereof.
Grant rights to any other person.

Display of Copyright Notices

All copyright and proprietary notices and logos in the Control Panel and within the Software files must remain intact.

Making Copies
=============

You may make copies of the Software for back-up purposes, provided that you reproduce the Software in its original form and with all proprietary notices on the back-up copy.

Software Modification

You may alter, modify, or extend the Software for your own use, or commission a third-party to perform modifications for you, but you may not resell, redistribute or transfer the modified or derivative version without prior written consent from Jamie Rumbelow. Components from the Software may not be extracted and used in other programs without prior written consent from Jamie Rumbelow.

Technical Support

Technical support is available primarily through the Support application. Jamie Rumbelow does not provide direct phone support. No representations or guarantees are made regarding the response time in which support questions are answered.

Refunds
=======

Jamie Rumbelow offers refunds on software within 30 days of purchase. Send a refund request for assistance.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jamie Rumbelow for any third-party claims, actions or suits, as well as any related expenses, liabilities, damages, settlements or fees arising from your use or misuse of the Software, or a violation of any terms of this license.

Requirements

Taggable only requires an installed copy of ExpressionEngine 2.0.1 and >PHP5.1.

Installation

Install Taggable like any other ExpressionEngine 2 addon. Simply drag the taggable/ folder found in your download into the system/expressionengine/third_party/ folder. Install Taggable like any other ExpressionEngine 2 add-on. Simply drag the third_party/taggable/ folder found in your download into the system/expressionengine/third_party/ folder. Then copy the themes/third_party/taggable/ folder into themes/third_party. Then go into the EE control panel, navigate to the Modules page and find Taggable in the list.

Click the install link and you should see a set of form fields allowing you to enable or disable the various parts of the addon. Make sure you enable every part of the addon - the module and fieldtype.

And you've installed Taggable!

Update

Updating to the latest version of Taggable is really easy. Go to your account page and download the latest version, then replace your current install's folder with the freshly downloaded copy. Then go into the EE control panel, navigate to the Modules page and find Taggable in the list. Click on the Taggable link and Taggable will update itself, then load the dashboard. To confirm that it is indeed updated correctly, go back to the Modules page and check that Taggable's version number is up to date.
